The Scariest Haloween Movie is ...

Editor Pick: My scariets movie has to be "The Ring". Did not want to watch the sequel as the first one scare me for a week. It beats the Exorcist, Jacob Ladder. But you know the scariest in my opinion probably are those true murder stories as you can't fathom how such human can behave that way. Just my two cents.

Michael’s identity (face) was reveiled, and though he did’nt speak words he was not completely silent either. All said I think the only thing that does’nt look better than the original is the mask, to me they missed the mark, mostly the hair, but beggers can’t be choosers.[2] Michael Myers has become a horror legend since previous Halloween movie in 1978 , Sixteen years ago, a ten year old boy called Michael Myers brutally, emotionless Michael Myers kills his step father, his elder sister and her boyfriend. Sixteen years later, he escapes from the mental institution and makes his way back to his hometown intent on a murderous rampage pursued by Dr Sam Loomis who is Michael’s doctor and the only one who knows Michael’s true evil.[3] Michael Myers was a whack job who killed his older sister on Halloween night in 1963 for no apparent reason. Because he was, as previously mentioned, a whack job, Myers was locked up in Smith's Grove Sanitarium until he broke out fifteen years later and started murdering young women again.[4]

Michael Myers becomes a little more human and maybe, just maybe, you sympathize with him just a little. Not enough to really make you like him, but to sympathize with what he went through to become what he is/was.[5] Michael is "killed" by being gunned down by a whole squad of police. He falls into a hole and is presumed dead.[6]

The scariest movie i have ever scene has to be SUSPIRIA. This movie made me afraid of the dark for about 5 months.[1] The scariest movie, in my opinion, is "It". But that's just because I've always been deathly afraid of clowns.[2] The scariest movie ever watched? What is the scariest movie ever?[3]

Watch it for the exorcist face. Watch it for the philosophy.[6] Watch this if you get the chance, it's five hours, but it makes an unforgettable night. [7]

Yes, by far the scariest movie I've ever seen too. I came home from a women's party last night and Jerry had it playing, about half way through.[10] Yes, it was disturbing; yes it was disgusting; yes, it was freaky. Seriously though, it wasn't THAT bad .[11] Years later, having laughed my way through other b-movie horrors i stumbled upon that box again and decided fuck it, i'll watch. [12]

Yes, it was a documentry. It is the subject matter which creates and sustains the horror throughout the film.[13]

The scariest movie of all time is the movie that scared you the most when you first saw it in a movie theater. And that probablymeans a scary movie you saw when you were a kid.[1] The scariest movie of all time is the shining. That's the only movie i've ever had to leave the room/turn off the TV while watching.[2]

Jacob's Ladder definitely belongs on the list, gave me nightmares for probably a week after I saw it the first time. [1] Jacob Singer (Tim Robbins) is a Vietnam vet who seems to be profoundly affected by his nightmarish war experiences. Is it because of some Army experiments?[2]

Horror that gets the hairs on the back of one's neck bristling in fear - a rare treat! Watch out for RING 2 - a rare sequel that equally as effective as the original.[3] Horror films have been criticized for their graphic violence and are often dismissed as low budget B-movies and exploitation films. Nonetheless, some major studios and respected directors have made forays into the genre.[4]

Psychological thriller would be a better genre for it, however. I'm part of a Horror/Scare/Thriller movie review club and The Strangers was put up for viewing and was received well by everyone.[7] Psycho (1960) -- Marion Crane ( Janet Leigh) wants to make a new life for herself, and flees Phoenix with a stolen bag of cash from her employer. She then makes a fateful stop at the Bates Motel, run by Norman Bates ( Anthony Perkins), an awkward but seemingly innocuous man.[8]

Hell, I've seen Chip dodge him 4 or 5 times before. But eventually, inevitably .the Yeti will have his prize.[20] Hellraiser 1 and 2, The Friday the 13th movies used to scare me when i was younger, but they make me laugh now. [21] Hellraiser came in fifth, although I think some people I know liked the fashions more than they were genuinely scared, but I’ll accept it. Apparently, I know some alienated-ass people, who didn’t trust their government or scientists as children, and who were just sick with fear over what was going to happen to that poor alien.[22]

Silent Hill is an adult game, not just because there is violence in it, but because the themes and issues it tackles are perverse and disturbing. The enemies are hideous to behold, but like Pyramid Head - the game's most iconic baddie - they all tie in to the background of Silent Hill and the fears of the character.[26] Silent Hill was scary as heck, yeah. I liked Condemned a lot, although I thought it would have been scarier if there hadn't been quite to many lesser bad guys.[27]

Paris When It Sizzles

PARIS WHEN IT SIZZLES is an effervescent concoction filled with light, breezy humor and a few moments of genuine hilarity. The film has one inspired running gag featuring an uncredited Tony Curtis, who is at his scene stealing best.[1] Paris When It Sizzles is an unusual screwball comedy to say the least. Whether it works is another matter, but the premise and humor are interesting enough to make it enjoyable.[2] Paris when it sizzles is officially my least favorite Audry Hepburn movie. I indend to watch all her stuff.[3]

Holden narrates the action and he and Hepburn become the stars in his imaginary film. The problem with Paris When it Sizzles is that it's simply not funny.[4] Holden's Richard Benson has only two days to finish a script for an enigmatic producer (Noel . [5] Holden's Richard Benson has only two days to finish a script for an enigmatic producer (Noel Coward). Hepburn's Miss Simpson is drafted in as the typist and as the script is dictated it manifests itself on the screen, allowing the two lead characters to play out any number of romantic stories.[6]

Holden's Richard Benson is handsome, dapper, charming, seductive and without a shred of artistic integrity. Charlie Kaufman, as Nicolas Cage plays him, is all integrity, a fat, balding, sweaty slob who can barely bring himself to talk to other people, much less get the girl, even when she wants him.[7]

Hepburn's Miss Simpson is drafted in as the typist and as the script is dictated it manifests itself on the screen, allowing the two lead characters to play out any number of romantic stories. It's the cameo appearances in the imaginary world that really steal the show, with the blink-and-you'll-miss-it last screen appearance by Marlene Dietrich, as well as Tony Curtis having fun with his own screen persona.[11] Hepburn herself seems to have carved out her own niche with regards to style of acting, and her characters appear to merge into one when looking through her filmography. [12] Hepburn plays a secretary called in to type his slurred ramblings. Meanwhile, in real life, writer and typist fall in love.[13]

Hepburn, by contrast, has no problem here, and indeed she's lovely throughout; if this is not one of her greatest performances, it's largely due to the fact that neither the screenplay nor the direction are top notch. The former is amusing but confused, aiming at too many targets without really hitting them and not providing enough payback on its interesting premise.[14] Hepburn is always delightful (and thank god she isn't singing in this one), and Holden is a desirable leading man, even when he doesn't seem to interested in you, so their presence doesn't hurt the film at all. This film is unfairly attacked for the wrong reasons.[15]

Yes, yes, by all means. Do you drop me a line now?[20] Yes, the two have overcome racial dislike amongst themselves, but have Cullen and Jackson's minds actually been changed totally with regards to their views on the opposite race on the whole? This is the film's main problem, in that it so rigidly ties the issue of race with Jackson and Cullen that it prevents itself from dealing with the issue on any sort of wider context.[21]

POLTERGEIST CURSE

Films that dabble in the dark arts likewise seem to find themselves lumped with ?jinxed material? Urban legend tells that abnormal happenings during filming of The Exorcist had director William Friedkin repeatedly calling upon a priest to come and bless the set.[1] Film School Rejects reserves the right to delete comments and ban anyone who doesn't follow the rules. We also reserve the right to modify any curse words in your comments and make you look like an idiot.[2]

Carol Anne attends a school for gifted children, where the staff psychologist Dr. Seaton (Richard Fine) attributes her past troubles with noisy ghosts to mass delusions and hypnotic suggestions.[25] Carol Anne switches the TV channel to a station with static, and stares at the snow. Her mother thinks her habit is unhealthy: "Oh honey, you're gonna ruin your eyes.[26] Carol-Anne and Robbie are nearly swallowed back into the portal to the afterlife but are saved by their courageous mother. Carol Anne (Heather O'Rourke) says "They're here .".and with those two words, let the haunting begin, as a ghost/demon/Indian spirit abducts Carol Anne into some vague ethereal plane, and mom (JoBeth Williams) and dad (Craig T. Nelson) do anything to get her back, via scientists and mediums alike.[28]

POLTERGEIST

Poltergeist activity tends to occur around a single person called an agent or a focus. Focuses are often, but not limited to, pubescent children.[1] Poltergeist phenomena have been reported around the world throughout history. Before the nineteenth century, these occurrences were blamed on the Devil, demons and witches.[2] Poltergeist est un film amricain ralis par Tobe Hooper en 1982, et dont les acteurs principaux sont Craig T. Alors que ses membres vivent une vie tout fait banale, d'tranges venements ont lieu dans leur maison.[3]

Poltergeist's powers wrecked the Arenas props and made the debris fall on the Gladiators. Flynn captured Poltergeist and threatened to wring his neck if Dazzler, Beast, and Rocker didn't surrender to him.[4] Poltergeist is one of my al time favorite movies. So when I read that they are going to remake it I was a little sick.[5] Poltergeist offers thrills, shrieks, and creeps galore, all while maintaining a "PG" rating, though it would probably be a "PG-13" these days; that rating didn't exist in 1982. POLTERGEIST has been one of my favorite haunted house movies for as long as I can remember and the film remains as potent today as it was, when it was first released. The reason POLTERGEIST remains effective is the fact that its story is grounded in middle class normalcy, with the supernatural elements layered on top.[7] Poltergeist 's most effective paranormal scenes seem taken straight from real-believer reports, but when the movie strays from common haunting lore and indulges in dramatic hyperbole, the tension gives way to silliness. It almost feels as if the film makers themselves believe in ghosts, but don't believe that ghosts alone can earn respectable box office.[8] Poltergeist did not offer me that information. [9]

Poltergeist activity, with its connection to unresolved stress, appears to be a rare form of stress relief. Instead of the stress releasing itself in "normal" ways, the agent unconsciously "blows off steam" with the PK activity.[10] Poltergeist 3 seemed but a sad attempt to cash in on the Poltergeist name. It lacked most of the original characters and most of the original creativity and special affects that made the first two movies into the fan favorites.[11] Poltergeist II took the correct path and achieved box office success by continuing and providing back-story to the events of the 1982 classic. It also helped to bring back horror's most famous family "The Freelings" while also introducing fans to the most infamous villain in horror history "Reverend Kane" brilliantly portrayed by Julian Beck who sadly died shortly after it's release.[12]

Poltergeist disturbances have occurred globally since ancient times. Cornell did a computer analysis of those cases collected since 1800 to that time.[13] Poltergeists are ghosts that make noises or move objects through the air. Some scientists and skeptics propose that all poltergeist activity that they can't trace to fraud has a physical explanation such as static electricity , electromagnetic fields, ultra- , and infrasound and/or ionized air.[14] Poltergeists usually begin and end abruptly. The typical incident can last for several hours or several years.[15]

Spielberg once called 'Poltergeist' the dark side of his own 'E.T.', and that is perfectly apt. [30] Spielberg was only credited with producing the film, as he was forbidden by contract with Universal not to direct anything the same year he was working on E.T. It's been a subject of long debate how much control Spielberg actually handed to the credited director Tobe Hooper, or if he was a name only by the end of the process.[31]

All About Jamie Lynn Sigler

Jamie-Lynn couldn't resist this little pup when she left Koi in Hollywood last night. I'm surprised that it's so cold in Hollywood already! Jamie-Lynn Siegler, for example, was honored last Thursday for both her fundraising and consciousness-raising efforts when it comes to eating disorders. The star struggled with anorexia and bulemia while working on The Sopranos, so I’m assuming as I get further into the seasons I’ll be able to notice the weight loss and subsequent gain as she gained back control of her disease.

Savannah Smiles

Savannah Smiles is a sweet little film that proved a surprising hit on the Saturday matinee circuit. Mark Miller and Donovan Scott play a pair of good-natured escaped convicts who cross the path of precocious runaway Bridgette Andersen .[1] Savannah Smiles won city awards for best new bar in 2001 and best overall bar in 2002. The bar is open Wednesday through Saturday 7pm to 3am, Sunday 7pm to 2am.[2] Savannah Smiles won city awards for best new bar in 2001 and best overall bar in 2002. Savannah Smiles opens with a chubby, lame-brained ex-con named Boots (Donovan Scott) breaking his buddy out of prison even though his buddy only has a little bit of time left on his sentence. Boots and Alvie (Mark Miller) go on the lam and steal a broken-down junker of a getaway car as they attempt to make their escape.[4] Savannah Smiles hit me particularly hard, though I can see it as a point of contention among fans. It’s sappy and sentimental, but for me, that’s working just fine.[5]
